Gran Turismo 6 will be available on PS3 on December 6. And after launch, Polyphony Digital will offer players free access to futuristic concept models.

Through the "Vision Gran Turismo" initiative, GT6 will eventually be updated to include cars like the BMW Vision Gran Turismo, an exclusive concept car derived from the BMW M. Other concept cars include the Golf GTI Vision Gran Turismo, Alfa Romeo 6C Biposto Vision Gran Turismo, and the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo. Even Nike has a concept car with the Nike ONE.

The Vision GT cars will be released by Polyphony Digital after release as free DLC through title updates. According to Sony, it's being offered as a "thank you" to longtime series fans.

"GT has resonated with the automotive world and we have enjoyed many different and fascinating collaborations. But Vision Gran Turismo is probably our most ambitious to date," Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi said in a press release. "It promises to provide a window into the future of automotive design that we can bring to life in Gran Turismo 6. We are extremely grateful to all of our design partners in this project for their amazing birthday present to Gran Turismo to celebrate the franchise's 15 year anniversary, and are so excited to share this gift with our fans."

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
