Velocity 2X blends space shooting and platforming

FuturLab is working on a follow-up to Velocity Ultra called Velocity 2X, blending arcade-style space shooting with platforming, for the PS4 and Vita.

A sequel to Velocity Ultra is coming to PS4 and Vita. Velocity 2X is a high-speed top-down space shooter mixed with platforming elements. The developer is actively seeking to mix together the two genres for a full dual format experience by including special weapons and hybrid bosses.

FuturLab has left a pair of teasers on the PlayStation.Blog, promising a full reveal at the upcoming Eurogamer Expo in September.

Velocity 2X is targeted for a 2014 release.
