Far Cry 3 creative director Patrick Plourde has revealed his next project: Child of Light, a downloadable game "inspired by classic Square titles." Powered by UbiArt Framework--the same engine that powers the 2D Rayman games--Child of Light tells the story of a young girl who "physically and mentally grows up" on her journey.

Speaking at GDC Europe, Plourde explained that the project was concieved as a "playable poem," and that the art is inspired by Japanese icons like Hayao Miyazaki and Yoshitaka Amano.

No platforms have been announced, but it being a Ubisoft game, we wouldn't be surprised to see it available across multiple platforms. A "formal announcement" should be coming in the next few weeks, according to IGN. For a few seconds of blurry video, check out this Vine.
