Hot off the heels of Space Hulk, another Warhammer 40K game is in the works for PC, iOS and Android. This time, Games Workshop has signed a deal with Russian mobile developer HeroCraft for the turn-based collectible card game Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf. The free-to-play game is due in 2014. According to the announcement, you'll be building a deck of cards to customize your army and their abilities, between attributes like attack, movement, and offensive or defensive skills. When they enter the battle interface, it switches to a 3D real-time interface to watch the spectacle unfold. You'll be able to choose how to play, between the styles of a Grey Hunter, Wolf Scout, Blood Claw, and Wolf Guard. It promises hundreds of cards, with pre-built deck templates if you'd rather not customize your own. You can also evolve your cards at the Iron Priest's Forge as you work your way through the story, which will have you do battle with Word Bearers and Necrons.

I haven't played Warhammer Quest, but probably not. Space Hulk is a more-or-less direct translation of the Space Hulk board game. From that standpoint, it's pretty good.

No, there are some legitimate problems with it. Makes me sad as I was looking forward to it.

There are some problems and things that can be improved but there's a lot of complaining about the mechanics which is retarded since they're almost identical to the board game

yeah i watched him play for about 30 min and the mechanics looked fine. animations are a bit slow but it looks like a good 1:1 rip which is fine for me.

i am gonna wait though and hopefully things will get better like blood bowl did. i just cant justify spending $30 on it with the shape it is in.

I'm enjoying it so far and my biggest complaint is actually the speed. They need to fix that.

Once they put in the mission editor I think it will be worth the money but right now its a toss up depending on how big of a fan you are.

These fucking abstract no name developers tend to agree to GW's crazy licensing restrictions and conditions more readily than established developers. It's the brand attachment they hope to use for themselves, which GW knows and accordingly exploits. /backroomwhispers
