Valve is just making all kinds of waves right now. The latest move by Valve is that they have released a stand-alone version of TF v1.5 (Better known as TF Classic) for anyone to download and play. You dont even need a copy of Half-Life or a CD. The game is fully functional but limited, and you have an option to buy it from the download site (Real.com.. again) for 30 bucks. You have to register first though. Thanks JayZee. Anyone want to take some guesses on what Valve is up to with this? note: This also brings into question if that Counter-Strike for $19.99 showing up on EB yesterday was a goofup or not.. Hmmmm

Has anyone else noticed this about all all Q3 maps.
They all look exactly the same. What I mean is kinda grainy up close and not very real looking. I guess this is what they are shooting for in a game that is supposed to be in the future but to me they just don't look that great. HL maps may look dated but at least they add a touch of realism. Kinda hard to explain but one example would be the sky. In HL the sky looks like,....well, a sky. In Q3 the sky looks like we are on Jupitor or something.
Now UT maps look great. They combine the "real" look of HL but with the added features of not looking dated.
Don't know if anyone understood or cared but I just thought I would share that with you.

I have been messing around a little with Worldcraft and was wondering if anyone thought UnrealEd was a better map builder? Worldcraft is fine and all but my maps look really dated (kinda like all HL maps).

Yea, I hate how everyone jumps to the conclusion of "police brutality" with everything. There are a lot of shithead cops out there, but take that incident where that guy went on a shooting rampage and killed 1 bystander and a cop. Then when the cops shot him down, the family sued because they said "the cops let him die".

Not all drug dealers are PimpDaddys surrounded by Ho's, selling crack to pregnant bitches. I buy my drugs from a respectable young man, clean cut, well mannered and tailored. It's his primary source of income, but he does hold another job. He doesn't sell to anyone he doesn't "know", and certainly not to kiddies outside of the Jr. High.

He provides a service to those that perfer to enjoy themselves in a manner that the hypocritical governments of the world don't approve of. There are risks involved of course, mostly being prosecuted under laws designed to make Soccer Mom's feel safe because all the dirty Niggers are being put away in jail instead of pushing crack onto their kids.

I dislike egoism only because it precludes altruism completely, something I don't agree with, just because I'm not altruistic (though sometimes I am), doesn't mean no one is.

And the whole argument that "helping others makes you feel better" crap, well... why does helping others make you feel better if you're not internally altruistic?
