The Witcher 3 cinematic trailer kills monsters

Cinematic trailers rarely have much to do with the game they advertise because, well, story rarely has much to do with games. A new cinematic trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, however, seems a fair representation of the moral dilemmas and mass murders we expect from CD Projekt RED's RPG, just prettier and slicker than the game will be.

The trailer highlights a question Geralt has faced across the series: what makes a monster? While the Witcher code focuses on monsters with twisted horns and great gnashing teeth and whatnot, stressing political neutrality, Geralt's inevitably ended up struggling with human monsters too.

The Witcher 3 is due in 2014, coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

I don't post often, but the Witcher series caught and kept my eye. This trailer, just caught it again.

Watch the "the beginning" trailer. Alot more gameplay footage there. Looks pretty slick

hahaha. I was only half paying attention to that trailer at first. I had to start it over because I caught something, like the dude on the cliff talking, out of the corner of my eye and I had one of those reality breaking moments.

Like, "...wait, what's going on? Is this real? AM I REAL?!"

Thank goodness that cranberry juice is always disgusting in any universe. That brought me back to Earth.

I know that this is pretty much a sacrilege statement to make on this site, but I hated The Witcher 2.I stated playing it only about 3 weeks ago and was liking it,until you actually have to pull out a sword and fight something. The battle mechanics are probably the worst I've ever seen in a game of this magnitude.Hell, the controls in general are pretty horrid, and I guess that's why they made a mod because even the devs know how bad they are.

I love the bleakness, the character development, the exploration and overall world building of the game, but for me,all of that goes out the window if the controls suck. This is why I'm very concerned about 3.Has CD Projeckt Red really learned from their mistakes of the combat system and overall controls? If it plays smoother and more intuitive,I'm all in,if not,I won't give two thoughts about not playing this game, which sucks because just like the second game, which I quit playing while I was still in Flotsom,I really want to like these games.

I disagree about the controls. I thought the battle mechanics were quite good. I suppose if all you want to do is spam the attack button and win, this you wouldn't enjoy the fighting.

I actually sucked at fighting at first for that very reason. In fact, I'm still pretty bad I think, but good enough to complete the game. In the first game, you pretty much just timed the clicks right and just spammed the attack and you would win. Witcher 2 requires better timing and some tactics to really be good at it.

        To each his own though.
