PlayStation All-Stars Island for iOS and Android launches in Europe

PlayStation All-Stars Island is quite the head-scratcher. Exclusive to iOS and Android, the free-to-play app has nothing to do with last year's PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale.

Commissioned by SCE Europe and developed by Zoink Games (of WiiWaa fame), the app is a joint promotion with Coke Zero. On the Island, players will be able to download games based on Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet Karting, inFamous, and Gravity Rush. By scanning Coke Zero cans, players will be able to unlock new content.

The first game is Uncharted: Drake's Pursuit, an endless runner in the style of Temple Run (seen above). The other games will also be "endless," according to Sony.

The Android version is already available on Google Play, with an iOS version forthcoming. However, because this promotion is being run by SCEE, it can't be downloaded on US-based phones.

Still, it's interesting to see Sony embracing platforms beyond its own. In fact, there doesn't appear to be any Vita version in the works...
