Pokemon Rumble U trailer shows off NFC on Wii U
Pokemon Rumble U is the first Wii U game to make use of the GamePad's innate NFC technology, and a new trailer shows it in action.
Pokemon Rumble U has the distinction of being the first Wii U game to make use of the GamePad's NFC feature. As with the Skylanders "Portal of Power," this lets you import characters and store data using collectible figurines, and a new trailer for Pokemon shows Pikachu making the trek from the real world to virtual one.
As previously reported, the figurines aren't required for Pokemon Rumble U as they are with Skylanders. They'll cost $3.99 apiece at GameStop stores, and will be sold in sealed capsules so you never know who you get until you open it up. Eight figures will be sold in all, allowing you to change move sets and store data on them.

This sounds like a terrible business move. I don't think parents are going to like buying the same pokemon five times before they get the one they were looking for.-
Not even Activision is that greedy, and Skylanders also seems to have more substance than this.
