CD Projekt RED opening new studio, helping on Cyberpunk and Witcher 3

Though CD Projekt RED has only released two video games, it's fast become one of the studios I'm most excited about. And now it's growing. The Polish developer today announced it's opening a new studio in Kraków, which will be helping out on its jolly exciting upcoming RPGs Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

"A new studio, new people and new energy--we're growing and we're extremely excited that we can tap into the potential that Cracow has to offer," RED head Adam Badowski said in today's announcement. "We want to continue to make better and better RPGs and the new studio is another big step in that direction."

The Witcher 3 is due on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2014, and looks ruddly lovely from what we've seen. Cyberpunk 2077 is a lot further out, without any concrete release window yet, and will be the first game to use RED's new REDengine 3 tech.
