Battlefield 4 Battlelog includes mobile app

DICE is giving Battlelog a hefty kick in the pants for Battlefield 4, expanding it from a fairly straightforward social network to an all-singing, all-dancing companion. It even has a mobile app letting you find servers, change loadouts, and view live minimaps on your phone or tablet. Come, come, watch a new trailer detailing its many wonders.

The new Battlelog will let players check their stats, change equipment loadouts, browse servers, create custom challenges with leaderboards named Missions, and check out leaderboards localised to people in the same city, country or continent.

It's all sorts of cross-platform too, so you can view the minimap live and set attack points on your tablet while playing on a console, or change loadouts from your laptop.

Battlefield 4 is due October 29 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It'll hit Xbox One and PS4 too.

The most exciting part about this for me will be Second Screen, as it will finally give those of us with multi-monitor setups productive use of one of them.

They should have the ability to let you use a second screen as a giant map.

It's not clear to me that they are going to let you use a second monitor for that, they only show it working on a second mobile device.

Also, they only show it working on Apple devices. The last battlelog app was never released for Android.

I think that was because the battlelog site worked on android and not on iphone. I could be wrong though.

As nice as BF3 was, the awful voice comms choice and Origin have made me swear off BF4.

After DA2, SimCity, Dead Space 3, and Mass Effect 3, I've decided to stop funding EA at all. Fix yourselves first.

Next thing you know, they'll add an IN-GAME server browser in BF5.

The hilarious part is thats a neat idea but how about letting us change our loadout on our actual TV or monitor while dead instead of on a secondary device?

You know you can already do that, right?

BF3 was a great game with some hugely stupid shortcomings, I couldn't stick with it eventually and had to let it go.

I really hope they have support for a lobby where you can setup Alpha, Bravo, etc squads so you're not trying to get a group of 5 on to a server and the last guy is left to fend for himself. And yes, I'm talking about consoles.
