Outlast creeping out on September 4

Scary walk 'em ups are all the rage nowadays, thanks to Amnesia: The Dark Descent and the Slender Man craze. Red Barrels today announced its own entry in the genre, Outlast (which trapping you in a creepy asylum filled with monsters), will arrive for PC on September 4 at $19.99.

Scary walk 'em ups are all the rage nowadays, thanks to Amnesia: The Dark Descent and the Slender Man craze. Red Barrels today announced its own entry in the genre, Outlast (which trapping you in a creepy asylum filled with monsters), will arrive for PC on September 4 at $19.99.

Outlast sends a journalist into the derelict Mount Massive Asylum to investigate what a mysterious corporation has been researching there. Unpleasant things, turns out. With incredibly poor hygiene and scientific practice, too.

Outlast is also confirmed for PlayStation 4. Red Barrels dropped new screenshots alongside today's announcement but they don't give much of a sense of what Outlast actually is, so here's a video of IGN having a gander at the E3 demo:
