Beyond: Two Souls trailer talks 'gameplay'

David Cage and Quantic Dream may have cinematic aspirations, but they're still making video games. "I guess what we are looking for with the gameplay is really to find an interface that will allow you to play life," Cage said in a poorly-edited snippet. "And we try to get closer and closer to the ideal interface where you don't think anymore: you just do it."

Beyond: Two Souls comes exclusively to PlayStation 3 on October 8.

Why does this movie keep telling me to press buttons? I JUST WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE!

It's not a movie. I love QD and their style. While Fahrenheit was a movie with QTEs, Heavy Rain was brilliant. Easy moves for the charactere were easy for the player, open a door, half turn a joystick. Moving carefully through an electrified fence while in total pain? Twist the joystick while pushing the trigger buttons down and then repeatedly tap square.

See the difference? I actually empathized in a unique way with a character in video game, something that i haven't seen outside Heavy Rain done nearly as well. I'm excited as hell for Beyond to see how they evolve the concept further.
