The Sims 3 expansion hoverboards Into the Future

"How many damn expansions will The Sims 3 get anyway?" you mutter. Well, its eleventh expansion pack may answer that question, as it blasts virtual people Into the Future to a world of holo-displays, robots, and hoverboards. Be sure to check a GameStop while you're there.

Your little men will get to frolick around in the future with their descendants, larking about with jetpacks, building and programming robots, creating sci-fi homes, trying all the cool future fashions, and exploring the- the "vast wasteland"? Oh, and altering the future in terrible ways.

The Sims 3 Into the Future is due on PC and Mac this fall. Hit the official site for more.

All expansion pack fatigue aside, this sounds like a neat addition. Shame about the pricing though. Even worse shame about having to cope with a barebones Sims 4 in relation to fully expansion'd out Sims 3. It's somewhat baffling to me how many expansions they sell for a game that eventually gets replaced. Stuff like train simulator always ensures backwards compatability, whereas with the Sims having to buy everything again is part of the experience.

Yeah - this actually sounds surprisingly neat, but I just can't get by the paywall.
