Fans were tasked with choosing the next character for the free-to-play PS3 fighter Tekken Revolution. And they've chosen incorrectly.

Although fans could choose from characters like a salmon and "run-of-the-mill old man," the top pick ended up being "female vampire."

The Comic-Con audience challenged with voting for the next character heavily favored the vampire over the other possible candidates, which included a "sexy female" character, and Shin Kamiya, a side character that died in one of the Tekken films. According to Polygon, the heavily female audience seemed to prefer the vampire, with a player pointing out that she fit with the franchise's theme and that "more female characters were needed."

With the vote complete, Namco Bandai plans on releasing the character for Revolution later this year.

C'mon, Andrew, Japanese fighting games have a long tradition of beautiful female vampires and/or succubi. Morrigan Aensland? Rachel Alucard?

        Also, here's a photo and description: http://www.siliconera.com/2013/07/19/female-vampire-headed-to-tekken-revolution-as-a-new-character/

A young female vampire that has been imprisoned in a wing of the Rochefort Estate, where Lili was raised. She has a dark personality, but her gothic attire and uncanny beauty are mesmerizing. During development of Tekken 6, she was proposed as a character that used an actual martial art, but also with fireballs, like a 2D fighting game character. However, aside from Harada, a strange phenomena occurred in which many members got married or gave birth to children around the same time. As a result, not many staff were left at work to complete the character, and she was discarded. The concept was salvaged again during Tekken 6 BR, but the same strange phenomena occurred again and Harada locked the concept away in a safe, wanting to keep it secured within the development team since it (she) seems to bring good fortune.

It's true. But it's time to break tradition and let some salmon fight as well!

What about a sexy vampire salmon. With gills and scales so hot it'll boil your water, or erm...something.

Holy crap, the F2P model seems terrible for this genre. Is this how Ace Combat Infinity is going to be?
