Namco Bandai has announced Soulcalibur 2 HD Online, an HD remake of the classic fighter. Word out of Comic-Con pegs it as a remake of the PS2 version of the game, which included Heihachi as a guest fighter. It will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year.

The HD Online version introduces new netcode overseen by Project Soul. It will also include all the modes of the original release: Arcade, Survival, VS Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Team Battle, Practice and Weapon Master.

Here's the trailer:

awesome, the best Soul Calibur! (also incidentally my first) Hope they also release it for next gen consoles or maybe even PC..? No, too unlikely.

Anyway, probably my last 360 game. Could've been worse.

No Wii U version? Haha, wow. Soul Calibur 2 was a huge hit on Gamecube. This just shows how third parties have absolutely no faith in Wii U.

GCN version was the best. It was much more fluid than the Xbox version, and it looked better than on PS2. Link was the best guest character, he was so aggravating with his bomb trolling.

I'll definitely get this, as SC2 was my favorite in the series! That said, a PC version would be ideal since we won't be able to play this on the new machines coming out.

I only have one question: is this going to be the COMPLETE Soul Calibur 2, or are they going to jank it like they did Dark Resurrection for the HD consoles?
