Halo: Spartan Assault hitting Windows 8 devices today

The top-down virtual twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault for Windows 8 PCs, mobiles, and tablets is out today. We weren't impressed by the preview build we played, but hey, it's the first new Halo game for PC since Halo 2.

According to Halo Waypoint, the game will be available to download at 4PM PT today. (That's in less than half an hour, folks.) You should be able to find it on the Windows Store.

Do note that the mobile version of the game will be exclusive to Verizon Wireless service through August 16. Phones on other providers will have to wait before they can jump in. 1GB of RAM is required to run the game on Windows Phone 8 devices.
