Autoduel, the PC car combat game that recently boasted David Jaffe as an adviser, has rebranded itself and started up crowd-funding. Now titled "Motorgun," it's seeking $650,000.

The Kickstarter campaign has gotten just over $13,000 so far, with 31 days yet to go. In addition to Jaffe's advisory role, developer Pixelbionic has also signed on Gears of War and Unreal Tournament designer Lee Perry to create an arena as one of the stretch goals. The team already includes various veteran game designers from classic PC games like Wolfenstein, Redneck Rampage, and Interstate '76 and Interstate '82.

"We've been working hard to ready our Kickstarter launch of MotorGun, which we are beyond ecstatic about," said Pixelbionic Co-founder and President Mike Arkin. "Maxx and I have assembled an all-star team who share our creative vision for an awesome car combat game. However, the fate of MotorGun relies on the commitment and support of fans looking for something special, so we're looking forward to the reception now that we're live."

I'd be most intersted in a SP campaign, a la i'76. I hope it will also have a killer soundtrack. Might be funding, will wait for a bit more information to be released.

Though in addition to that, I've been longing for a new Interstate game for as long as there hasn't been one - desirably, one modeled in the footsteps of I'76, rather than '82, which I still liked (and loved the setting and installation music and artwork).

And in addition to that, I meant the launch menu music and soundtrack, rather than the install music, which is still cool.

No. I still want something like I-76 or Autoduel. I will not buy a Team Arena MP (or Bots) Only version.
      Heavy Gear Assault as well.

Although, to be honest, the concept is quite Car Wars-esque. Hence my need for Autoduel, the RPG portion of Car Wars.

No thank you. I was about to plop money down for a new version of Auto Duel ( as in the board game and Origins PC adaptation). You know the rpg. not another Twisted Metal.
      What a wasted opportunity.
