Good question. Not great, but not terrible. You definitely have to use analog instead of the d-pad, which is generally not how people like to play shooters. Movement on the d-pad is just too fast and you'll accidentally run into bullets.

That said, the analog works pretty well and is fairly intuitive, just not as precise as movment on the d-pad/joystick in other old-school shooters.

Doesn't sound like it'd translate to iOS too well then?

Well, I think iOS has some sort of controller add-on in the works. In that case it would be fine.

But with touch controls? Hell no.

Cool! I got this on PC a while back and liked it pretty well but my backlog for bigger games is so big I never really got into it. How's the rest of the shmup scene on phones?

This game has really good visuals, lots of objects and activity in the backgrounds. I wonder if they'll have to cut any of that out for this port.

Either way, won't look as good as on my PC running it at 3072p

It was on sale for $2.50 on Steam this week - I'm 3 chapters into it and love it. Not particularly hard, but man is it pretty....
