  • Just finished listening to this episode and was thinking about you guys playing games that you wouldn't normally play and it got me thinking... Should gamers (people that think games are on par with books and movies) be well versed in all of the different genres games have to offer.

I read some, but I always try and "expand" my horizons by changing the types of books I read. I challenge myself to dip my toes into books I might not at first glance be into. For instance I love me some post-apocalyptic sci-fi, but last summer I read through To Kill A Mockingbird again (first time since childhood) just to see what it was like.

Similarly I have this year been trying new kinds of games. XCOM even though I am terrible at strategy, The Journey Down because I'm not sure I have ever played a point-and-click adventure and even Ridiculous Fishing because why not. Before I would just concentrate on the Halos and Forzas of the world. But games like Bioshock and Red Dead Redemption showed me (despite being shooter / action games) that there is a whole new world out there. Thanks Aladdin!

Anyways if you guys do another QA show I'd love to hear your thoughts.
