Despite taking some occasional time off for movies, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has remained a central figure in the WWE universe. It seems only fitting that with the rebirth of the franchise under the 2K Sports umbrella that the former WWE champion becomes the cover boy for WWE 2K14.

"I am exceptionally grateful to be chosen for the cover of WWE 2K14 and serve as the first cover Superstar under 2K's leadership," said The Rock in a press release. "I want the cover of WWE 2K14 to electrify the people. I want the artwork to stand out and set a new standard for all WWE video games from 2K, both today and in the future."

2K Sports has released a new "Become Immortal" trailer showing off some notable confrontations between The Rock, John Cena and Ryback, as well as giving face time to other stars both past and present.

The game, developed by Yuke's, is scheduled to come out October 29 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Let's hope the game is a bit more memorable than The Rock's last film.

FINALLY... The Rock... HAS COME BACK... to video game covert art!

Slight irony here as I believe The Rock is pretty much done with pro-wrestling!

Could very well be true. Rock tore his abdomen to shit in his Wrestlemania match with Cena...and he finished the match, like a man!

        http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1599740-the-rocks-wrestlemania-injury-could-result-in-pressure-to-quit-wrestling

He had surgery on the abdomen shortly afterwards. And while he wouldn't give this kind of thing a second thought, there's already been reports that guys like Michael Bay (who had Rock for Pain & Gain) are urging him to stop wrestling, because of how it could ultimately affect his acting career. So yes, he may very well be done.

            A couple of things:
            1) Rock's movies always make bank. That's what directors care about, not critical reviews. I mean, Michael Bay's still making movies. -_-

            2) Even when critics tear Rock's movies apart, most of them praise HIS performance. That, coupled with box office numbers, are why Rock continues to get big roles in movies. Rumor is Terminator 5 is being written with him in mind.

Supposedly the Michael Bay comment was a joke, but yea, I have to think his wrestling career is done until he slows down making movies again.

I agree. But John's right, too. The Rock on the cover of practically anything equals money to the mainstream audience. I'd buy a game with D-Bry on the cover, and so would you, and so would other wrestling fans. But that's us. We're awesome.

No, John Cena will overcome the odds and be the cover athlete for all of the 2K15 covers.

Keefer, umm, The Rock isn't the current champion, he dropped the belt to John Cena at Wrestlemania a few months back (when he tore his abductor).

WWE hasn't given us much reason to keep up. I tuned into Extreme Rules, but it was awful. Payback was great, though.

Apparently the last two episodes of RAW have been great. Heyman has rumored to been in on the writing of these episodes.

I've missed the last few weeks of WWE, given E3 and post-E3 craziness. I need to catch up. I do really enjoy it.
