Rumor: Infamous: Second Son getting multiplayer

Infamous: Second Son appears to be getting a multiplayer mode, judging from a mention of "online players" in a PlayStation 4 brochure.

Infamous: Second Son is starring a brand new protagonist, but that's not the only change coming to the franchise for its first PlayStation 4 outing. A brochure implies that the game may get some form of multiplayer mode, which if true, would be a series first.

Videogamer reports that a PlayStation 4 brochure offline single-player, and then "online players TBC" (aka "To Be Confirmed"). Other single-player games in the brochure, like Knack, reportedly don't include such a listing. That indicates that the wording was slipped into the Second Son entry for a reason.

This is speculative for the time being, and Shacknews has contacted Sony to confirm. We'll update as more information becomes available.

I was really hoping that the next gen would move past the whole "shoehorn in multiplayer because we need it" thing.

Dude if it was any other developer I would so agree, but this is Sucker Punch we are talking about the guys who made Sly Cooper and Infamous. If they are making multiplayer I'm sure it will be some kind of good and just take a look at Uncharted Multiplayer and Last of Us those games have really good story and fun Multiplayer so have faith brother.

LoU multi is pretty fun, even if it's basically Gears.

Yeah, it doesn't have to be deathmatch, it could be a race through checkpoints in the the city, co-op survival etc. etc.
