More on the ASUS Drivers
by Maarten Goldstein, Jul 20, 2000 11:48am PDTGot Apex? has a Q&A with ASUS VP Raymond Chen, discussing the ASUS "cheat" drivers that allow people to enable transparent view, wireframe view, or extra light on the ASUS AGP-V7100 and AGP-V7700 videocards, as reported yesterday. It looks like their plans have slightly changed, as the transparent and wireframe view will no longer be appearing in the next driver update, however they are still planning on including the extra light function.
Q: It appears as though the proposed feature set has stirred up some controversy throughout the online gaming community. More specifically the Transparent View and Wireframe View features. What steps are being taken by Asus to ensure that this leap in technology meets the competitive gamers needs?Rivastation has two movies [movie 1, movie 2] that show the graphic card options in effect.
A: In light of the concerns, we are planning to only offer Extra Light in our upcoming driver release. We are planning to open up a discussion forum to hear from the gaming community in regards to the other technologies - Transparent View and Wireframe View. Based on the feedback received from this forum, ASUS will make its final decision

"You've got an Asus!" would have replaced "You're a bot!" as the number one whine...
asus is a taiwanese company. taiwanese people like to win with the minial effort. it's in the blood. all taiwanese people cheat in games. it's in the blood (i repeat). it is also why taiwanese people are competitive and successful in business. it's a culture thing.
it is funny, then, that there are lots of people who think people in taiwan promote child labor and work in foreign assembly line factories. this may have been true, say, forty years ago. but taiwan is a very very very rich country indeed. why so? it is driven by capitalism, and indirectly by greed. greed and that taiwanese spirit to win no matter the cost.
LIKE DO YOU WHITEBOYS UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING?
