Weekend PC download deals: Battlefield 3 for $5

As this is the end of E3 week for me and I want nothing more than to run outside and yell at the sky, this weekend's roundup of PC download deals is less tediously comprehensive than usual. It's still full of lovely games, mind! Offers include Battlefield 3 for $5, The Witcher 2 for $7, every Double Fine game for $10, Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package, Kerbal Space Program for $15, Dead Space 3 for $20, and Far Cry 3 for $25.

If you're holding on on principle I guess that's ok but Origin is just fine as a piece of software now. I have no issues with it whatsoever.

The only thing I have against it is just one more program and account I have to have when 99% of my games are on Steam. I just leave Origin off until I need to fire up the occasional EA game. It's totally fine though.

Aside from being yet another client for my library of games I have never had an issue with it. I would prefer my Origin collection on Steam but what can you do?

Origin is fine... when it works. When it doesn't work it's not like it's impossible to get it to work but it's a lot of pain.

When I bought a retail copy of Crysis 2, Origin wouldn't accept the key. I had to have two separate live chat conversations with their support people - one of which logged me off of Origin and then I had to log in and start over - to get it associated.

It may be better now but between lots of stories like that and that while fiasco a while back where they boned people because of a coupon exploit, they're learning it's not so damn easy to run a good Steam competitor.

I keep thinking $5 is a good price, but how many people are still playing just the base game with no DLC?
I guess I could play the singleplayer.

There's still plenty of servers running the vanilla maps, especially Caspian Border and Metro.

Yeah I guess I can update Origin from April 2012 v8.5.23 -> v9.2.1 for a 5 buck game.. Now I have a reason for it being installed!

The Gamefly coupon doesn't work on the UK site so Black Ops is still £20. Bollocks to paying double the US price.

Tomb Raider for $17! I go and check, about to check out, then remember that NoScript is blocking the site.

I unblock it, the site reloads to the EU site. Tomb Raider costs 50 euros.

WTF man, why do 'muricans get the preferential treatment with these sales all the time... The only shop ever being nice to Euros is Steam :/
