Kojima hopes Metal Gear Solid 5 will come to PC

There's an unpleasant but not unexpected hole in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's platform lineup. The open-world stealth 'em up is confirmed to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and... no, no PC. Or not yet, anyway, as series creator Hideo Kojima says even though a PC edition is not being worked on right now, it hopefully will come one day.

"Of course we are developing on a PC so we look forward to releasing something on the PC some time," Kojima told GameTrailers (via Worlds Factory) through a translator, "but right now we don't have a release date and we aren't really looking to do that right now--that's not our priority--so we are making it and we hope to put it out as well."

PCnauts, let's all gaze at the astounding E3 trailer with even mistier eyes now:

I expect to see a ton of publishers being evasive about PC versions then releasing them 6-12 months later this gen (like more than last gen)

With the XO/PS4 architecture just seems like leaving money on the table not to

Yeah I doubt he wants to give anyone a reason to just sit on their PC and not buy a new shiny box, especially given all the time and effort they've already spent developing for said shiny boxes.

Makes sense. They created the Fox Engine to aid multiplatform development, including PCs. Can see them porting it after the main work on the consoles versions is done.

I still have the first Metal Gear Solid on PC somewhere.
