Redesigned Xbox 360 launches today, starts at $200

Microsoft clearly wasn't going to abandon the Xbox 360 when the Xbox One launched, but has made a surprising demonstration of its commitment to the console that's now seven years old. It's launching a new model of Xbox 360 which has an air of the Xbox One about it, and apparently it's out today.

Microsoft clearly wasn't going to abandon the Xbox 360 when the Xbox One launched, but has made a surprising demonstration of its commitment to the console that's now seven years old. It's launching a new model of Xbox 360 which has an air of the Xbox One about it, and apparently it's out today. "To better fit in your home and the Xbox family, we're going to update the Xbox 360 with a modern look and feel, based on the Xbox One design," Xbox marketing man Yusuf Medhi said at Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference. "It's small, sleeker and as quiet as ever," he added. The new model debuts today in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Ireland, costing the typical $199.99 for a 4GB model, $299.99 for one with a 250GB hard drive, and $299.99 for a 4GB system bundled with Kinect. It's shipping to retailers now, or you can order from Xbox.com. Microsoft says it'll roll out to the rest of the world "over the coming months."
