Watch Dogs E3 trailer is jolly nice CGI

No, CGI trailers don't represent gameplay. Yes, they are fluffy marketing to get you unduly excited. But by gum, the cinematic E3 trailer for Ubisoft's open-world cybervigilante 'em up Watch Dogs is awfully pretty, if a bit eerie. We can still enjoy it as an attractive and well-made video for our enjoyment which by pure chance is somehow connected to a video game. Call it tone-setting and world-building, if you must.

As for the actual game, well, our Andrew watched a 30-minute gameplay demo of Watch Dogs in May. While he said it "doesn't appear as if it will be as revolutionary as I had hoped," its near-future Chicago "looks like a fun playground to play in."

Watch Dogs is slated for release on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U on November 19. As the Xbox One and PS4 still don't have launch dates--though that may change at E3--their editions are yet undated. It's another huge Ubisoft multi-studio development, lead by the Montreal gang with help from Paris, Quebec, Bucharest, and Reflections.

Yeah, I got fooled as well. Watched this last night and didn't realize the first half was CGI until this morning. Pretty damn incredible!

Ubisoft has a great cinematic team. Their trailer for AssRev is still my favorite of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-Ixo7QXw_E&hd=1#t=50s

Just watched it. That is a pretty awesome trailer! I haven't played this one, but that castle looks like the one from the first game. Do they revisit some of the old sites?

They did, but the game is not worth playing unless you're a hard-core AssCreed fan. I suggest skipping it.

I suspect this is going to sell big, not just because it looks pretty and fun, but I'm sure the power fantasy of an anti-hero big brother vigilante type would appeal to a bunch of people right now.

With the last trailer, I was like "This looks like Person of Interest." Now the main character in this new trailer sounds like Jim Caziezel. Is Watch Dogs = Person of Interest or not!
