FIFA's future is secured well into the future, but the series is also known for making decent progress in its yearly iterations. A new trailer for FIFA 14 shows off the new features coming for this installment.

The trailer, which resembles more of a slow-mo highlight reel, highlights the pure shot feature, improve ball protection mechanics, and more exact movement. All of that should help you secure high-scoring games in which you reach two or even three points.

Ah, the arcadey version of videogame soccer. Fun for the kids but if you want a more realistic simulation of playing on the pitch, I'd take PES in a heartbeat. It's really not even close.

Since I have zero interest in "licensed leagues" there really aren't any negatives to the PES series over FIFA.

Hmm did PES come good again at some point? Back in the day it was way better for gameplay, but Fifa caught/overtook it in like 2010, and to my knowledge was still better?

He's still wrong. We established this the last time he posted this without evidence: http://www.shacknews.com/article/79350/fifa-14-on-pc-wont-use-ignite-engine?id=30215611#item_30215611

okay that's reassuring. I'm not a fanboy for either game (though back when PES was better one did have to argue with quite a few people who'd only ever played fifa), so i just wanted to make sure i was still playing the right game.

FIFA is better, but PES is not that far behind honestly. And things can change pretty fast, just look at how awesome PES6 was then :(

FIFA has all the licenses, far better online modes, better graphics, more realistic animation and touch. It is pretty far behind.

Konami had the chance to usurp it for a long time back in 2002-2006 but they rested in their laurels. EA Sports changed their game up for this gen and have consistently knocked it out of the park.

Has PES improved? Yes, but it always feels like it's trying to play catch up rather than defining itself.

On PC PES has mods, so alot of the graphics and licensing issues don't exist. Although mods are a pain in the ass to install and quality varies.

FIFA is getting modded now too, allowing people to support any league they want.

I used to love the PES option files back in the day. It was great to get other people's interpretations of stats and change the way you play completely.

What? No. PES is the arcade game, FIFA tries to be the simulation. This has been the case since 2008.
