Saints Row 4 E3 trailer exposes itself

Saints Row 4's E3 trailer has debuted ahead of next week's event, explaining the plot with tongue firmly in-cheek.

You enter the world naked and screaming, and if you're the leader of the Third Street Saints and President of the United States, that's how you spend a significant amount of your adulthood too. Volition has released a new trailer for Saints Row 4, which explains the plot and does so mostly in the buff.

We get to see a nice parody of Hollywood's overwrought drama, a concise summary of the aliens' virtual world prison that drives the game, and lots of blurry parts around our hero's midsection. Check it out below.

Will I need to have played the prior 3 (for more than 15minutes total across all of them) before this comes out?

You don't have to, and can safely skip the first game, but they are very good games and just get better with each iteration. It will help explain the back story, which just gets more ridiculous over time.

2 is fun and plays fine on the 360. 3 is crazy good. 1 was a more serious GTA clone that ends with you being blown up, 2 starts with you waking from a coma to take over the gang that betrayed you and then the city. 3 starts with an insane over the top setup of the gang being the biggest celebrities of all time with all the trappings that go along with it.

Nope. There might be some drops but even SR3 is basically skirting continuity with the first two games.

Just need to know that you become leader of the Saints, make it a sexy international corporate street gang with mass marketing, having taken over two cities, and that you are pretty much awesome in a can.
