Wii U Sniper Elite V2 missing multiplayer, DLC

Sniper Elite V2 received a Wii U port last week, complete with a few new features to take advantage of the GamePad. But it didn't take long for customers to notice that something was missing -- namely, the multiplayer modes, leaderboards, and extra missions that its console cousins have had for months.

MyNintendoNews (via Eurogamer) called attention to the disparity. The features were added to the other platforms post-launch, so it appears this port is simply the basic version of the game without any of the extra frills baked-in.

505 Games confirmed that the DLC expansions and online functions are not present in the Wii U version, but declined to explain why. An update adding the features could still happen, at least conceivably, but probably best not to get your hopes up.

Of all the games to put on the Wii U,... I'm surprised TBH. In a weird pleasant way, wow? Odd.

Yet the publishers (and some devs) bitch about their crippled games not selling on the WiiU.

I was interested in this game until I read about this a few weeks ago.

Why would you be interested in this game on Wii U? This is the weirdest port I've ever heard of, it's like... Ican't even think of an analogy. This game SCREAMS PC game or at best, Xbox 360 - cause they are all PC gamers. The Wii U doesn't seem like this game belongs at allllllll

Because I have other friends that don't have computers to game on that have WiIUs so we could play multiplayer. Except we can't play multiplayer because this game was castrated.

I also don't see how a console is "made" for certain games. Are you still on about Nintendo being the "kiddie" system?

Call it how I see it, yeah. Having this game on there in any form is surprising and a turn about on how I (and I'd assume) many gamers may perceive them.

Sounds like getting MP may be a nightmare though, may not have much backend MP support / infrastructure fleshed out.
