Nintendo is doing something a little different for E3 this year. Instead of a large press conference, it will be hosting a specialized Nintendo Direct, and giving fans access to some of the line-up through a partnership with Best Buy. Today the company announced the participating stores along with dates and times, so you can start planning your E3 week accordingly.

The full list includes 110 locations, including 89 in the United States and 21 in Canada. You can play the demos on Wednesday, June 12 between 4-8 PM, or on Saturday June 15 between 1-5 PM. Yeah, it's their best option this year. They aren't going t get CNN or Wired's attention, so it's best to go strait to the people.

I'll definitely be there considering I got lucky and the one 10 minutes away from me is participating. I would have been ready to make a longer drive if they had something crazy like a playable demo of the new Zelda.

I saw this list on another site, let me tell you, the plan is sound, the list of places to go see this stuff is HORRIBLE.
I cant speak for everywhere else, but I live in NY and there are 10000000000000000 other places all around the city that can host this, hell man, Nintendo's flagship store would be a prime spot.

I have to go to Albany, or Long Island City to see this stuff? Guess I'll be you-tubing it.

I would assume they are demoing in their strongest markets.

But, I have nothing to back that up.

Harvey, LA is not even possibly their strongest market in the state. Hell to get there is free from New Orleans, but you have to pay to get back to murder city USA.

Yeah that they picked Visalia, CA just blows my mind. That's seriously middle of nowhere California. ...And nowhere in Orange County. >:(

Tempted to try this out in here KC, although I assume there will be only one kiosk with a huge line of people waiting to play.

This idea is fine, but why not really reward Wii U owners directly (while blowing their minds too) and let them DL the a small playable chunk of what they're showing the press to their Wii Us? It would probably blow their mind, and make them feel special too.

I mean, Nintendo could set up their own little E3 area in the Miiverse, let players feel like they're on the showroom floor, and win back some people love.

Feels like a missed opportunity to me.

Because those people already own the system. I wager this is meant to curry favor with those of us on the fence, or balking at the likely significantly higher-priced XBO and PS4. We can go into Best Buy, play some cool new games that're coming soon (this year?) and then say "Well shit, let's buy a Wii U".

I totally understand this approach, but they should also those of us who have already bought one too.

I'm wondering if they're worried about hacking, and people ripping the code for the New 3D Mario and stuff like that. I'm sure it will be tried with these kiosk units.

Yeah, I don't know why they chose Worcester; that location is not that spacious in terms of parking, and is the anchor of a rather dumpy mall. There's another one 10 miles away with far better parking and access, but maybe that GM said "no".
