Battlefield 4 launching October 29; confirmed for Xbox One and PS4

With the next generation of consoles now revealed, EA has announced that Battlefield 4 will, surprise surprise, hit both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It also confirmed a release date for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 of October 29 but, as neither new system has a launch date yet, merely said it'll be on them this holiday season. The pre-order bonus will be BF4's first multiplayer DLC pack, named 'China Rising.'

"In this sprawling expansion, players fight for dominance across the vast and majestic Chinese mainland in four massive multiplayer maps, using all-new vehicles and high-tech military equipment," EA said of China Rising in today's announcement.

Pre-ordering the PC's Digital Deluxe edition, which costs $10 extra, from Origin also gets you unspecified extra in-game items and access to the multiplayer beta.

However, Battlefield 4 is not coming to Wii U. In fact, EA has no Wii U games in development.

Man, I love BF since 42, and 3 is pretty awesome. 4 seems like it's coming out too fast, but I guess we'll see. I hate having to switch between 3 and 4, to play the old maps.

Not complaining but with so many expansions for 3 I'm not even tired of it yet.

agreed, I'm kind of glad that I'll still have at least five more months of BF3 before everyone jumps ship to BF4

not AS fast as the jump from battlefield2 ---> battlefield 3... but they made bfield BC and bfield BC2 in 2 year intervals after battlefield 2.

Im sure its gonna be sweet. next gen. probably a "minor" leap, but i bet its gonna make our hardware cry.

I wonder if this is going to be the Chinese maps from BF2. You know the maps like Dragon Valley, Dalian Plant, Fuse Pass, Daqing Oilfields.
