Final Fantasy 8 getting PC re-release (in Japan)
by Steve Watts, May 17, 2013 10:30am PDTSquare Enix is re-releasing Final Fantasy 8 for PC in Japan. Much like Square's recent PC port of Final Fantasy 7, it will sport higher resolutions than the game did in 1999.
The announcement (via Kotaku) was light on details, so we don't know of a release date or if it will bring any other extra features. For now, it's only been announced for Japan, but an American release is almost guaranteed.
When FF7 was re-released on PC, it included achievements, cloud saves, and a "character booster" feature that allowed you to breeze through tough parts of the game to experience the story. It's likely that FF8 will follow that trend.
