Scribblenauts Unmasked features over 2000 DC Comics characters and items

Scribblenauts Unmasked for 3DS, Wii U, and PC promises to feature all the DC Comics characters--and not just characters from the New 52. "Even characters that appeared in one panel in one comic in 1976" can be found in the game, Warner Bros promises.

Where do you go after you've given players the ability to create nearly any object and modify it with nearly any adjective? The Scribblenauts franchise could have hit a wall with its latest release, Unlimited. However, this year's iteration breaks through that wall by enhancing its library with one of the most comprehensive compendiums of the DC Universe ever. Scribblenauts Unmasked for 3DS, Wii U, and PC promises to feature all the DC Comics characters--and not just characters from the New 52. "Even characters that appeared in one panel in one comic in 1976" can be found in the game, Warner Bros promises. "If you know a character in the DC Comics universe, it'll be here," WB told us, pointing out that there's over two thousand DC characters and objects. There are even 33 different Batmen (Batmans?), compiled from the storied franchise over the decades. DC nerds will likely test the Scribblenauts dictionary with the most obscure characters they can think of. But not only will you be able to summon any DC character to play with in the game. You'll also be able to browse the in-game Batcomputer, which contains files on every single character in the game. It even features Wikipedia-inspired links, letting you click from one related entry to the next. If playing with the entire roster of DC characters wasn't enough, Unmasked also adds a hero creator which lets you take different aspects of any character in the game to make your own superhero. We saw "Super Cool Man," a combination of Aquaman, Superman, punk rock guy, and sunglasses. On PC, you'll be able to share your creations through Steam Workshop. While the gameplay looks to follow the typical Scribblenauts formula, Unmasked adds yet another significant jump for the series. Whereas previous games had you solving preset puzzles, Unmasked procedurally generates new puzzles every time you load a map. That means, theoretically, you'll be able to play the game forever, as you should have an infinite number of new puzzles to solve every time you boot up the game. Scribblenauts Unmasked will be available later this year.

Expect tons of DC Universe locales too
