More On id Surprise

It looks like the pieces are falling in place for that 'id Surprise' story from this morning. The guys at InsideMac have dug up some dirt from Bizwire with word that a new Mac will be announced which will be powered by the ATI Radeon. As you guys might recall id has a bit of a history with Apple and ATI. They showed off Quake3 for the first time ever at a Mac show on Jan17, 1999.

ATI plans a surprise announcement on July 19. In a keynote, wait for Apple to announce three new systems with ATI graphics in them. One will be an iMac with the RAGE 4XL chip, the remaining two are PowerMacs which will ship with RAGE 128 PRO standard and RADEON.
So I feel its safe to assume they will be showing the id stuff on one of those systems. What they are showing though, dunno. I'm leaning towards something mission pack related though.
