Garrus's C-Sec days and BioWare's other Mass Effect spin-off dreams

BioWare still isn't ready to reveal what the mysterious new Mass Effect game is, who it'll star, when it's set, or any of that, but has chatted a little about possible spin-offs. It did cram the fictional world full of an awful lot of detail, after all. Sadly, the mere fact that PR didn't forbid people from musing about their fanciful ideas means that no, we probably shan't get to play a private investigator on the Citadel.

"There's so much that could be told in the Mass Effect universe," executive producer Casey Hudson told OXM. "It'd be cool to do something completely unrelated to the larger storyline, like a story about a private investigator on the Citadel. Or maybe something detailing Garrus' time in C-Sec."

Series level designer Dusty Everman is also interested in Garrus. "While being one of Shepard's most loyal friends, Garrus has also had some of the most driven personal goals. He's a hero in his own right, as Archangel and beyond. Who wouldn't want to see the further adventures of the bold, charming Garrus Valkarian (there's a lot of guns out there to calibrate)."

Something starring Javik, the last Prothean, tickles producer Mike Gamble's fancy. "As the last remaining member of a lost race, I think that we could tell a lot of stories about his adventures in the Milky Way, and coming to terms with his place in the new Galaxy."

Then there's lead designer Preston Watamaniuk, who idly daydreams about a face-smashing combat game starring a Krogan. Do follow the link for more ideas from the Mass Effect gang.

These cool games and more, coming never to no platform anywhere near you.

Couldn't they go back in time just before the first Reaper cullings and show in better way what the ending of Mass Effect 3 was supposed to explain in 2 minutes.

I think going back and doing more with the Reapers is a mistake. They couldn't stick the landing, got shat on for it and fixed it as much as they could. Any more and it would just be a waste of time because the number of people who want to learn more about the reapers is super small compared to those who just want more of the universe.

Make a game where you play as Thane during all his assassination missions. Basically just make Starcraft: Ghost.

If they make a Javik game I will probably die from excitement. Also a renegade choice must mean someone being thrown out of an airlock.
