Sid Meier's Ace Patrol coming to iOS on May 9
by John Keefer, May 01, 2013 9:40am PDTFiraxis Games already has one original iOS game in the works, but the popular strategy developer is releasing a new game with Sid Meier's name attached and it is hitting the App Store next week, publisher 2K Games announced announced today.
Sid Meier's Ace Patrol puts the player in the role of a pilot over Europe during World War I. The game, which was conceived, designed and programmed by Meier, will feature 30 planes and 120 missions. Players will be able to build a team of aces and promote them throughout the campaign. The turn-based game will be single-player against the AI, and allow asynchronous multiplayer.
The game will be free-to-play and will come out for iOS devices on May 9.
Firaxis continues to build out its mobile lineup. In addition to Haunted Hollow, which is due out tomorrow, the developer is also porting the popular XCOM: Enemy Unknown to iOS for release this summer.
