Wii update advertises Wii U

By Steve Watts, May 01, 2013 2:00pm PDT Nintendo has admitted openly that it hasn't defined the Wii U very well, most recently in comments following unfortunate annual earnings. The company is trying a new approach to educating players about the Wii U: spelling it out for all existing Wii owners. @StarfireTurtle tweeted an image of the Wii message board (via Kotaku) which emphasizes that Wii U is an entirely new system from Nintendo. "Wii U is the all-new home console from Nintendo," it states. "It's not just an upgrade--it's an entirely new system that will change the way you and your family experience games and entertainment." It's strange that Nintendo has to say so directly that the Wii U is an "entirely new system," but at least the company is trying to inform its massive Wii user base.
