CCP has announced plans to turn its EVE Online game universe into a television series. The company has entered into a "creative partnership" with Baltasar Kormákur, an Icelandic filmmaker who recently directed Contraband starring Mark Wahlberg.

According to CCP, the series will "take its inspiration" from user-submitted stories. "Kormákur's creative team, in collaboration with CCP, will create an original concept and storyline set in the EVE Universe, a future history of rival societies trapped beyond a wormhole in a dystopian sci-fi world," a press release detailed.

Here's a potential taste of what you can expect, in this new trailer that goes over the history of the franchise.
