According to Polygon, the screenshot tool allows players to take screenshots while playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf (or the Japan-only Tomodachi Collection). You'll then be able to share those images on Twitter or Tumblr.

So far, only Nintendo of Japan has announced the tool, but we'd be surprised if this didn't make its way Stateside in some shape or another.

This is an absolutely necessary add on for Monster Hunter.

Kinda related I guess, but how do you do this on the WiiU in MiiVerse postings? I see folks include screenshots in their posts all the time, but don't remember seeing a button to take one.... I'm sure I'm missing something obvious...

Get what you want to capture on the screen (either the TV, or the GamePad screen).
Hit the 'Home' button on the GamePad.
Go into the 'Miiverse', it will load up a community for the game you're playing.
Touch 'Post' on the bottom right.
Touch the image icon, and select which screen you're capturing.
Add some kind of comment and touch 'Post'.

Some games don't support this, Monser Hunter doesn't for some odd reason.
