The 3DS RPG Bravely Default: Flying Fairy is coming to North America, Nintendo announced during its Nintendo Direct conference this morning. The game from Square Enix is being published by Nintendo in its trek to our shores, and is set to hit sometime in 2014.

Bravely Default has been out in Japan since late last year, hitting strong sales at launch. The game owes a lot of its identity to classic Final Fantasy games, but delivers some twists on the concept like the ability to skip a turn to do more damage later. It will feature AR functionality and multiple endings as well.

This game looks amazing! I feel like lately the 3DS has kind of become the sequel the SNES that I have always wanted! So many great games coming out now or soon! And many of them have that kind of retro feel to them but with an updated look and design! I've spent WAY more time playing my 3DS lately than my 360.

Lately it's been 3DS/Vita and PC for me. I usually use my PS3 for watching media stuff. 360 hasn't been on since I finished Halo 4. Too bad that Europe is getting this game before us.

Is this game a comedy? How come the name is so absurd?

        Because Japan.

Also, because the combat system is built around "braving" and "defaulting". Which yes, sounds pretty damn silly too.

Silly name for what looks to be one of the best Classic and JRPGs to come out in a while.

This version of the trailer is so much better:

It's longer, shows more stuff and is way higher resolution.

Off Topic: Is it just me or does that main character have a surprisingly juicy ass for a Japanese designed character? Usually they are so slim. (I like it).
