State of Decay shambling out in June
by Alice O'Connor, Apr 15, 2013 6:00am PDTOpen-world zombie apocalypse survive 'em up State of Decay will launch in June on Xbox Live Arcade, developer Undead Labs has announced. A PC release will follow later. The studio established by ArenaNet co-founder Jeff Strain also lurched forward with a new trailer clutched in its outstretched arms, showing off snippets of life after undeath.
State of Decay will have you recruiting survivors, scavenging for supplies, building and fortifying sanctuaries, and re-killing hordes of zombies by golf club, blade, gun, explosives, and car. Think of it as an action-y take on the genre, though characters can die permanently.
It'll be a single-player affair, sadly, but Undead Labs hopes to build an MMO codenamed 'Class4' upon State of Decay's ideas. Check the official site for more on SoD.
