Grand Theft Auto playlists compiled by Rockstar

Rockstar has released official playlists for its various radio stations across the Grand Theft Auto catalog.

The radio has long been a defining part of the Grand Theft Auto experience. It helps pass the time while driving around the city, and can drown out the screams of hapless civilians that you plow through. Compiling your own playlists could be time consuming, but Rockstar has removed that step by doing it for you and putting them up on iTunes and Spotify.

The Rockstar blog announced the playlists, and has links to each of them on their respective stores. The full line-up includes 19 playlists from Grand Theft Auto 4 and Episodes from Liberty City, 10 from San Andreas, seven each from Vice City and GTA3, and nine each from Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and Chinatown Wars.

Each of the playlists has approximately 5-15 songs, so that's quite a bit of music. Unfortunately, they don't seem to include the parody commercials and chat stations, so you can't quite get the full GTA experience. Then again, maybe it's best you don't fully lose yourself in the moment while driving around on real roads.

GTA IV's radio music mostly sucked, but San Andreas and Vice City had some really good shit on it.

Wow, I've been wanting to get "Fade Away" from GTA3 for years. Surprised and excited they're finally putting these out!
