Electronic Arts is apparently feeling out another entry in its NBA offerings. The company is holding playtest sessions for a "new NBA concept" later this week at EA Canada. This could be the next NBA Live title, or another basketball game altogether.
The survey was caught by NLSC (via Polygon). It asks for interested participants in and around the Vancouver area who can play the new concept on April 11-12. It also asks if participants are familiar with existing sports franchises, like EA's own Madden and FIFA, or their basketball competition, NBA 2K.
EA's last few years with the NBA franchise have been complicated. It canceled NBA Elite 11 after a poor reception, and after a few years of silence, announced NBA Live 13. It was subsequently canceled as well, and the company claimed it would be putting its full efforts into NBA Live 14. That game is reportedly in development at EA Tiburon, and the survey doesn't make it clear if this test is for that game, or another NBA game being made by EA Canada.
