Developed by Idea Factory, Record of Agarest War was first released in Japan in 2007. It finally launched in North America on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2010.

The port's based on the North American Xbox 360 edition, with the English translation by American publisher Aksys. Ghostlight's working on supporting both gamepads and mice.

"Should this first release take off, we will be looking to bring more JRPGs to PC," Ghostlight community manager Ross Brierley told VentureBeat. "And with the nature of the PC as a platform, we would be looking to give them a worldwide release [wherever] possible."

You can vote to get the game on Steam through Steam Greenlight, if you fancy. Thankfully a digital release means we can't see a repeat of Aksys's frightful Really Naughty Limited Edition.

I'm all for more JRPG's coming to the PC in the US.... but is this really the best title to gauge interest for future projectes? Bring Xenoblade to PC over here and see how THAT one goes over!

Yeah, a game which as far as I know isn't actually very good (coming from the perspective that JRPGs can be good, which some will ignore) and is mostly known for its T&A doesn't strike me as a good way to gauge interest at all.

I bought this used at store thinking it might be a cool ass tactics game, how wrong I was. I returned it bout 10 minutes after I got home.

Not saying it's a bad game, just not for me - I think I'm too old for this lol.

Anyway, I agree, not the best game to bring to PC if you're trying to tap into our market.
