'Best of PSN' compilation rated, includes four games
by Andrew Yoon, Apr 01, 2013 4:15pm PDTDownloadable games can be given new life when they get thrown back into retail stores. Following the footsteps of Microsoft, Sony appears to be compiling random PlayStation Network games into retail Blu-ray releases. The first will include four games, all from different genres and developers. In fact, the only thing that these games share is a publisher: Sony.
A listing by the ESRB (via Gamespot) outs a "Best of PlayStation Network" compilation that includes Fat Princess, Tokyo Jungle (pictured), Sound Shapes, and When Vikings Attack. The collection is referred to as "Vol. 1," which suggests other compilations should be forthcoming.
Two of the games are also available on Vita with cross-buy. It's unclear if this re-release will include that feature.
Microsoft is also fond on random retail releases of Xbox Live Arcade games. For example, the "Triple Pack" includes the equally eclectic collection of Limbo, Splosion Man, and Trials HD.
