  • This is good of them to release the patch, naysayers STFU

Unreal was amazing in single player - incredible water - good gfx and a nice game

DM online is fine with a patch.
The bots rock - sniping 500 heads off an hour is unbeatable

As for the FUCKHEAD who said Q2 Rules Q1 sucks and Q3 sucks and Doom sucks, hello
    HELLO
mc fly - get the fuck OUT of the house....

I dont think ANY other game would respect that call at all.

    The "average" seems to be.
    Doom 1 & 2 (perfection)
    Quake 1 great
    Q2 good MP, bad single
    Q3, sellout mutherfucking re-hashed shit.

and I personally dont think Q1 was that good either, it had SOME atmosphere (romero's touch? shrug) - Q2 had less atmosphere and Q3 IS just like playing an engine with half a game tacked on.

  • This v226 patch is pretty solid. I just played some multiplayer, and the network code is definitely Unreal Tournament network quality, which is pretty phenomenal. The weapons in my opinion are still far too weak, the movement too slow, and the maps not solid enough (in terms of deathmatch maps) for the game to be regarded as having a solid deathmatch aspect. But then again, anyone looking for Unreal style gameplay has Unreal for co-op gameplay, and Unreal Tournament for deathmatch gameplay. Being a Q3A player, I may not "personally" like the Unreal style of weapons or movement, but I can surely appreciate the tremendous quality factor that went into the creation of Unreal and Unreal Tournament. Although my personal preference is still to Quake/Q2/Q3A, if I were to do a review of the games, Unreal Tournament would undoubtedly score higher than Q3A, simply because of the quality factor and the money value that consumers are getting with so much content. My suggestion for Shack readers is to form your own opinion rather than basing it on a bunch of biased idiots who have likely never played the game, or never gave it a chance. Good job Epic Megagames!
