Over two years after Telltale announced an adaptation of the fine comic book series Fables, and a year after it was initially slated to launch, the Walking Dead maker today revealed it's coming this summer for PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Named The Wolf Among Us, the episodic series is set before the comics kick off and stars Bigby, the Big Bad Wolf himself.

The Wolf Among Us will see Bigby in New York City, trying to keep fairy tale characters including Mr. Toad and the Three Little Pigs hidden from we regular folk, IGN revealed. Bill Willingham's Vertigo series, you see, sees characters from fable, folklore and fairytale--friendly and horrifying alike--fleeing from their world into our own to escape a war.

The Big Bad Wolf assumes human form and takes on a sheriff role in the comics, policing the Fables and trying to keep their world hidden. Which it seems he'll be doing in the games too.

"Developing The Wolf Among Us based on the Fables universe has allowed our studio to build upon all of the hallmarks of what makes our episodic series so engaging for players," Telltale CEO Dan Connors told IGN. "Through an evolution of our approach to choice and consequence, we can further explore the complexity of each and every iconic character in a universe rich with untold history from the darkest sides of the storybooks."
