Fuse dated for May 28

After almost a decade of Sony-exclusive releases on consoles, Resistance and Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac will launch its very first multiplatform game, Fuse, on May 28. That's the date announced over the weekend by publisher EA. The super-powered shooter, which boasts four-player co-op, is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Fuse sees four professional person-shooters gaining strange and wonderful technological abilities powered by an alien energy source, from a cloaking device to a rifle which crystallises then shatters enemies. They use these weapons and powers to kill men.

It also has a shiny co-op wave survival mode, which we previewed in December.

Fuse began life as Overstrike, but dropped quickly off the radar after it was announced in 2011. It resurfaced under the current name with a less cartoon-y look in September 2012.
