Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix spotted on retail site
by Steve Watts, Mar 15, 2013 8:45am PDTA curious logo for Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix was leaked last week, raising questions about what it could be. The credit to Ubisoft's cinema creation studio seemed to indicate a movie, but a new retail listing implies it could instead be a Vita game to tie-in with Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
A now-removed listing on Spanish retailer XtraLife (via Videogamer) listed Rising Phoenix as a Vita game set for release on October 10, 2013. That would put it just a few weeks ahead of Black Flag's October 29 release.
Ubisoft similarly released the Vita game Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, which took place during the same era as AC3 but starred its own heroine in her own setting. Unlike the apparent early release of Rising Phoenix, however, AC3 and Liberation released simultaneously.
An Ubisoft representative told Shacknews, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation."
