God of War: Ascension DLC season pass exclusive to Collector's Edition
by Steve Watts, Mar 12, 2013 3:00pm PDTGod of War: Ascension launches today, and Sony has announced its downloadable content plans for the game. If you're looking to save a buck by getting the season pass, though, you better pick up the Collector's Edition. Sony confirmed today that it won't be available otherwise.
Though the CE announcement mentioned a DLC season pass, the PlayStation.Blog confirmed that it "will not be available outside of the CE." Some in the comments section have expressed frustration that they didn't know the season pass wouldn't be available separately, since they had already pre-ordered the standard version.
As for the content that will be free for CE holders and not-so-much for standard buyers, Sony promises "new armor and weapons sets, new stages to battle in, and much more." That sounds very multiplayer focused, so if you were purchasing it for the more traditional God of War single-player campaign anyway, no worries.
